Built on technology from NASA, Austin-based startup Advanced Telesensors has developed a wireless, contactless multi-patient monitoring device that reduces staffing demands and improves patient care and comfort while monitoring heart rate, respiratory rate, movement, and stress. Green Room started working with Advanced TeleSensors this fall. Their non-wearable contactless (nothing on the skin, no wearable, no watch) device was developed at NASA. It tracks patients’ heart and respiratory rates. It can also be used for sleep quality, fall detection, wandering, and lack of motion in a variety of nursing, dialysis, and home care settings. Currently seeking local care settings for data collection, Advanced Telesensors is eager to hear from healthcare professionals on such tasks as checking in patients, monitoring vitals between spot checks, and employing video monitoring with patient sitters.
