Darrell Woelk – Chief Technology Officer at Green Room Technologies

Darrell Woelk received a B.S. in Engineering Physics from the University of Kansas and an M.S. in Computer Science from Kansas State, authoring over 30 peer-reviewed papers in that field. In 2013, Darrell became a key contributor to the development of the HL7 FHIR healthcare data standard and the application of machine learning to patient-focused, value-based care. Today Darrell is a recognized leader in machine learning, big data, and standards of healthcare interoperability.

Thomas Kuklenski – Technology Director at Memorial Hermann Health System

Thomas is a technology director at Memorial Hermann Health System with responsibility for interfaces, interoperability, SMART on FHIR application development, clinical decision support, application security, and custom programming.  The team has developed three applications and deployed three vendor-supported solutions. 

He was formerly a healthcare consultant and integration architect at Cerner. While there, Thomas leveraged his EMT and technical backgrounds to lead design, implementation, and optimization of electronic medical record systems at hospitals in the United States, Mexico, and Spain.    

He has a healthcare service dog in training and is a Houston HIMSS chapter member.

Dr. Phil Beckett – Chief Operating Officer at HASA

Phil is currently CEO at HASA, a regional Health Information Exchange based in San Antonio, Texas. Phil joined HASA in September 2015 as CIO to deliver HIE services in Dallas/Fort Worth, north Texas and west Texas.  Phil served for the previous 3 years as the Chief Technology Officer and Privacy and Security Officer with Greater Houston Healthconnect.

Phil has a major focus on usability after many years working with physicians – if it isn’t easy they won’t use it – and on patient engagement. He believes that consumers will drive the future of health.
